Grains Day

We are studying nutrition and fitness. Yesterday we did a Rock Our World tolerance project called Grains Day. We sampled rice and bread from around the world and used that as a springboard for talking about geography, tolerance, and cultural differences. The class came back to school in the evening so we could talk to Masa's class in Japan. We had a lively and fun conversation with the children there. You will see more about our day in our Rock Our World movie.

overcoming surprises

Well, in my Spanish class we are trying to make a Spanish language version of the ROW song. We did a first draft and then we asked Gaby's class in Peru to have a videochat with us to perfect the timing. Well, they were great about figuring out a time, and I was all organized about looking at the chart to find the time difference and then looking at our odd schedule and seeing when I could scrounge together my students.
